Imagine the opportunity as high school student to produce an entire news production in real time! That’s essentially what the October News Blitz is all about. During the regular school day, young journalists are not able to have the entire day to report. However, Saturday October 29th, students met at the East Neighborhood and Families Resource Center, 153 Spruce Street at 8am. After being given a prompt, students worked together as a news team to create an entire news production by 4pm. This task was similar to the “Crazy 8 Broadcast Journalism” competition at the annual STN convention.

The result gave students an understanding of what areas of broadcasting they will need to work on in order to compete at the Student Television Network Convention, Anaheim, California in March of 2017.
